The Simulation Operations Specialist (Technical Specialist) is a 12-month position, reporting to the Dean of Health, Education, Culinary Arts &amp; Human Services. <ul><li>Ensure simulation technology is fully integrated into simulation activities.</li><li>Support the running of simulations by providing voice over or other technological support as needed.</li><li>Support the technicians in the set up or break down of simulations as needed and when there is an increase in simulation demand (e.g., multiple simulations are running simultaneously).</li><li>Monitor and ensure all technology, AV, and equipment in the simulation center is functional and ready for use by running regular tests and checks; maintain log of equipment testing and checks and outcomes.</li><li>Provide on-going status report of technology, AV, and equipment so that the coordinator can adjust simulations with programs as needed.</li><li>Troubleshoot and interface with Campus IT or external vendors to resolve maintenance and repair issues.</li><li>Act as point of contact with vendors to coordinate scheduled maintenance.</li><li>Maintain inventory list of all simulation center assets, their expected life cycle, and end dates.</li><li>Maintain inventory list of all service agreements, their start and end dates.</li><li>Maintain inventory list of all simulation center software, it’s licensing start and expiration dates, and anticipated dates for upgrades.</li><li>Inform center director or administration of any needed quotes for equipment or software repair or supply purchases to support equipment/software functioning.</li><li>Coordinate all software upgrades to ensure efficiency of student learning.</li><li>Perform on-going maintenance on simulation center equipment not covered by service contracts.</li><li>Provide orientation training to students and faculty as needed on simulation center equipment and software.</li><li>Implement simulation center assessment plan under the direction of the center director or division administration.</li><li>Support technicians in the organization, cleanliness and safety of all lab spaces as needed, especially during high volume periods.</li><li>Provide oversight of work study students to ensure they are maintaining lab safely.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:&nbsp; <ul><li>Master’s Degree in Curriculum Design, Instructional Technology, Healthcare Simulation, or Computer Technology/Support, or closely related field; or, Bachelor’s Degree in one of these fields with two (2) year’s full-time work experience;</li><li>CHSOS&nbsp;Certification&nbsp;or&nbsp;CHSOS&nbsp;attainment within&nbsp;12-18 months of&nbsp;start of&nbsp;employment as a condition of employment;</li><li>Ability to use MAC and PC platforms;</li><li>Knowledge of Google applications and Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel;</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically in a team environment;</li><li>Ability to problem solve;</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of students and faculty;</li><li>Ability to work independently.</li></ul> EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT:&nbsp;We welcome and encourage applicants who do not meet the qualifications as stated above, to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position.
