Job Description Job Summary: HMS MEDscience has an opening for an experienced team teacher for its high school biology-based enrichment program. In addition to teaching, this position will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of our programming for various partners and support the training of volunteers who join our teaching team. This position will directly support the work that advances the goals and vision of HMS MEDscience (<a href="http://hmsmedscience.org/mission" target="_blank">http://hmsmedscience.org/mission</a>). This team member will work effectively within a culture inclusive of individuals with diverse backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations, and appreciate and leverage the capabilities, insights, and ideas of all individuals. This role will focus primarily on MEDscience's clinical program, but may have the opportunity to teach other program areas (including laboratory science, forensic science, and biomedical engineering) over time.&nbsp;Key Responsibilities:&nbsp;<ul><li>Lead Teacher:&nbsp;Delivers interactive lectures, simulation cases, and debriefs that utilize innovative and unique pedagogy techniques aligned with program goals of critical thinking, problem solving, building teamwork, communication skills, developing personal health literacy, and continued interest in STEM fields. Collaborates with the MEDscience team to deliver school-year and summer programming. Instructs students in medical skills, terminology, and scientific literacy (training provided).</li><li>Program Coordination: Coordinates the programming for at least 20 partnering high school classroom teachers for the fall and spring semester courses: discuss logistics, individualize program curriculum calendar, provide program materials, monitor completion of required paperwork &amp; surveys.&nbsp; Coordinates within the MEDscience teaching team: establish roles for each session, responsible for the set-up and breakdown of session materials. Provides support and training as needed to partnering high school teachers, interns, and volunteers on the MEDscience curriculum and pedagogy. Supervise student survey administration ensuring 100% rate of completion.</li><li>Teacher Training: Trains newly hired teachers and volunteers on the curriculum, meeting ahead of class sessions to run training and observing classes to provide feedback.</li><li>Curriculum Development:&nbsp;Assists in refining written materials for pedagogy evaluation, and other documents needed for program expansion. Job Description HMS MEDscience has an opening for an experienced team teacher for its high school biology-based enrichment program serving a diverse population including Boston area students. This position will directly support the work that advances the goals and vision of HMS MEDscience (<a href="http://hmsmedscience.org/mission" target="_blank">http://hmsmedscience.org/mission</a>).&nbsp;The MEDscience Teacher &amp; Communications Coordinator role is for an individual who is interested in teaching in our unique pedagogy. Our medical simulations require teachers to take on the roles of instructor, attending physician, patient, and/or counselor to students as they diagnose patients.&nbsp;The clinical skills in the MEDscience curriculum requires teachers to be able to work with a variety of medical simulation equipment and communicate proper technique to students. The teacher must be able to create a welcoming space for students with varying educational needs.&nbsp;This role will focus primarily on MEDscience's clinical program but may have the opportunity to teach other program areas (including laboratory science, forensic science, and biomedical engineering) over time. Job Description Job Summary:The Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute (HURI) organizes on-campus and virtual programming intended for the Harvard community, the broader community of Ukrainian studies scholars, and the public. Events include international conferences, weekly seminars, special lectures, meetings with high level government officials and other VIPs, and occasional cultural events and exhibitions. The Events Logistics Coordinator works closely with and takes direction from the Institute’s Programs Manager to ensure that HURI’s events-related operations run smoothly and efficiently. The position comes under the overall supervision of the Executive Director.The Events Logistics Coordinator is responsible, individually and in collaboration with other HURI staff, for the execution of event details which include logistical organization; creation of event materials-promotional and non-promotional (print and digital); arrangement of accommodations, transportation, dining/catering; arrangement of audio-visual and other technical needs; sending event invitations; and intra-Harvard outreach. This position requires the ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines while balancing a variety of tasks with attention to detail. The Events Logistics Coordinator also maintains HURI’s events database; creates event web listings and announcements; collects and formats informational material about speakers/presenters to be used for event publicity purposes; and carries out specified event follow-up tasks. &nbsp;Overtime, including evening and weekend work, will be required, as determined by the events schedule.
