Incident Reporting &amp; Investigation: Lead investigations into risk-related incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Submit a well-written report identifying such items. Coordinate insurance claims, review accidents, and maintain logs and supporting documents for insurance claims from RVC employees, students, or other related parties. &nbsp; 6. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal and external teams including emergency responders, senior leadership, and government agencies, to enhance risk preparedness. Develop relationships with emergency response agencies to facilitate inter-agency operations during emergencies. In concert with the Public Relations/Marketing department, communicate to key constituents as appropriate. &nbsp; 7. Training &amp; Education: Conduct risk awareness training sessions for employees to improve the organization’s overall risk posture. Develop and deliver safety training for RVC employees to meet federal and state guidelines; develop and implement safety policies and procedures. Influence and participate in safety training programs. Training and knowledge of such, at a minimum will consist of: &nbsp;a) Lockout/tagout b) Chemicals/Hazcom c) Electrical safe work practices d) Respiratory and N95 Protection e) Lockout Audits f) PPE Training g) Noise Exposure h) Bloodborne Pathogens i) Confined Space j) Forklift operation and certification k) Hazard assessments l) Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) &nbsp; 8. Regulatory Compliance &amp; Documentation: Ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations, maintaining detailed records of risk assessments, incidents, and mitigation measures. Ensure that RVC is a safe workplace through training and regular safety inspections of RVC’s physical facilities and properties to detect potential hazards and risks. Advise RVC leadership of recent insurance-related changes in policy and laws and their applicability to RVC. &nbsp; 9. Leadership and decision-making skills to set priorities for decision making before, during and after a disaster incident. 8. Experience in the direct supervision of technical professionals and providing technical and business impact review of emergency response work products and recommendations. 9. Demonstrated through previous work experience, effective leadership of safety and emergency preparedness planning programs. 10. Experience with word-processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software also required. 11. NIMS ICS certifications. 12. Possess or have the ability to acquire a valid State of Illinois driver’s license. 13. No record of conviction of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude. 14. Possess or acquire within a year the C-CERT Train-the-trainer certification &nbsp; Preferred Qualifications 1. Knowledge and experience with Occupational Safety rules and regulations. 2. OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification. 3. Prior law enforcement or fire service experience. 4. CPR/AED First Aid instructor-certified &nbsp; Work Environment During the course of performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. Constantly uses a computer and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc. May be required to use Respiratory Protective Equipment and when assigned to such work, facial hair must be shaven if it interferes with the safe fitting of respiratory protective equipment. Duties may also be performed outdoors in varying climate conditions and may be subjected to adverse and hazardous conditions. This position will require frequent travel between campuses, the City of Rockford, and the surrounding areas when necessary.
