Title: Institutional Research Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for research and analysis activities associated with gathering, processing and disseminating institutional information. These activities will provide decision support for the president of the college and her cabinet, for reports to the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC), for support of the NashGRAD program, for use in required surveys and reports and for providing information to appropriate internal and external constituents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communicates with faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners to understand their data needs and how best to support their programs. Provides data and analytical support to the NashGRAD program to meet program and administration needs for the planning and assessment of program priorities and goals. Manages, analyzes and reports NashGRAD data in collaboration with NashGRAD program leadership.
Understands the available resources that can be applied to a question and work with the requestor to provide accurate and insightful solutions. Assembles and executes SQL code from the NSCC code repository to gather necessary data. Analyzes data to measure progress toward institutionally defined goals, to address on demand requests, and to fulfill required reporting to TBR, THEC, and IPEDS.
Assists in the development and support of data visualizations, including Power BI dashboards. Assists in developing appropriate data systems to support institutional planning and policy-making procedures. Coordinates with the Technology Services Division to manage automatic processes. Prepares routine and on demand reports and maintains documentation for assigned projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree

These pipelines employ a micro-services-based architecture on a cloud-deployable system to maximize nation-wide system availability, scalability, data integrity, and security. They support organizations with highly-responsive cutting-edge analytical insights which are helping change how the space domain supports the joint war fight.In this role you will:<ul><li>Engage with space-related customers to understand their space-related analysis needs and translate them strategically into work products.&nbsp;</li><li>Understand, manage, and translate current and Future Operational Concepts (FOCs) and Operations/Campaign scenarios (e.g. JFOS—Joint Force Operational Scenarios) into scalable MBSE data models which interact with and augment the existing subsystems, platforms, capabilities, and mission models to drive candidate mission architectures.</li><li>Collaborate with our software architect, senior developers, operations analysts, data scientists, and other leadership to help architect/design interaction of the data models w/ other critical software capabilities and components.</li><li>Collaborate across Government-Contractor-FFRDC and UARC (Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, University Affiliated Research Centers) teams, Joint Services, other industry affiliates, and their respective Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to refine data and model inputs.</li><li>Dive into research on technical development aspects to ensure Operations/Campaign models are accurate.</li><li>Demonstrate your analytical products to customers.</li><li>Actively participate in Agile analytical sprint processes and ceremonies.</li></ul><h4>Qualifications</h4>Required:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 10+ years of professional experience or master’s degree in a STEM field with 7+ years of professional experience. May substitute educational degree for experience.</li><li>Deep expertise in operations/campaign-level representation and assessment of the joint multi-domain war fight using Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&amp;A) tools.</li><li>Space domain experience and understanding in SATCOM and Command &amp; Control.</li><li>Exposure to modeling, simulation, and analysis tools.</li><li>Proven track record of engaging with customers, product users, and coworkers to create innovative solutions to complex problems.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.</li><li>Possess a natural curiosity and desire to challenge yourself and those around you.</li><li>Possess and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance; US Citizenship required.</li></ul>Nice to have:<ul><li>Space domain experience and understanding in multiple areas: astrodynamics; orbital mechanics; satellite communications; space-based positioning, navigation and timing; remote sensing; command and control; battle management; and space domain awareness.</li><li>Cameo Systems Modeler (or similar) MBSE authoring software and SysML (Systems Modeling Language) experience.</li><li>Experience using both Scrum and Kanban.</li><li>Experience using Python to build system and component models.</li></ul>Target salary range: $104,040 - $183,600&nbsp;Disclaimer:&nbsp;The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
