POSITION SUMMARY

The Preventive Maintenance Technician (PM Tech) position assists in the repair and maintenance of the College’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other internal systems such as doors, keys and locksets. The College is seeking PM Tech’s to assist our trade supervisors in the following areas: Carpentry, Plumbing, and HVAC. These duties include but are not limited to: working on door closers, hinges and doors, installing sheetrock, changing filters, greasing pumps, cleaning coils, changing belts, greasing and changing bearings, servicing pumps &amp; motors, repairing toilets &amp; sinks, and servicing/maintaining/tracking equipment and inventory relevant to the department. POSITION SUMMARY Nashville State Community College (NSCC) is seeking a qualified CDL Driver to operate a mobile classroom for its Workforce and Community Development programs and support NSCC students and initiatives. This mobile classroom may travel to all seven NSCC campuses, as well as to other community and industry locations. The CDL Driver/Operator will play a critical role in supporting the College's mission to provide accessible education and training opportunities by ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the mobile classroom.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Safely operate a mobile classroom vehicle to designated locations, including NSCC campuses and community/industry partner sites. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition. Coordinate with program staff to plan routes and schedules. Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is to assist in setting up and maintaining Health Science labs, primarily Surgical Technology, Radiologic Technology, and Nursing as needed site campuses with the required supplies, materials, and equipment for the faculty. This includes repackaging supplies, assisting to set up the Operating Room, coordinating equipment with the coordinators and in hospital lab spaces, and cleaning equipment. This position is also responsible for handling and coordinating delicate and expensive equipment at the site campuses and affiliated hospitals.
Essential Functions: 
40% Set up Surgical Technician and Radiologic Technician laboratories with required supplies, materials, and equipment: repackage supplies, provide working equipment for students to use, ensure that supplies are readily available, and clean equipment after labs.&nbsp; Assist Nursing with any of these needs as well.
25% Communicate laboratory and general supplies for Health Science Courses (Surgical Technician, Radiologic Technician, and Nursing).&nbsp;
15% Inventory supplies, check equipment, and perform minor repairs or adjustments on equipment, under the direction of the Health Science Lab Coordinator.&nbsp; Be able to travel to all campuses and affiliate hospitals that assist with labs.
10% Clean up of labs after completion of lab exercises, maintaining a clean lab environment in the Health Science lab spaces. Ensure that equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately and according to safety standards.
5% Coordinate with the Health Science Lab Coordinator on simulation needs and assistance.&nbsp; Collaborate with faculty and staff in all Health Science programs for combined simulation experiences.
5% Participate in lab meetings within each program and across the Health Science Department as needed/assigned.&nbsp;

Title: Maintenance Technician
POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs basic maintenance and repairs to electrical, plumbing and other building systems and provides general carpentry, painting and commercial building repair/maintenance services across all seven of the College’s campuses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responds to and completes work orders for various maintenance projects and requests in a timely manner. Performs basic plumbing maintenance, including repairing faucets, caulking fixtures, running clogged drain lines and rebuilding &amp; replacing plumbing fixtures. Performs electrical repairs, including replacing light fixtures, lightbulbs and electrical receptacles and switches.
Prepares, primes and paints interior and exterior building surfaces. Installs and repairs drywall, glass, handrails, window blinds, ceiling tile, carpet/floor tiles, baseboard molding, etc. Maintains and repairs doors, locks, closers. Repairs or replaces defective equipment. Conducts preventative repairs on an annual, monthly, weekly and daily basis as needed/assigned.
Travels to extended campuses as assigned to perform routine and preventative maintenance and to assess condition of buildings/systems. Maintains a parts, supplies and equipment inventory and advises supervisor when inventory needs to be replenished. Moves chairs, desks, file cabinets and other furniture and equipment. Assembles furniture as needed. Assists with indoor and outdoor College event set-up and break-down, including tables, chairs, podiums, risers, stages, drapes, banners, etc., along with other miscellaneous requests.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED
Three (3) years’ building maintenance experience
Valid driver’s license
Must pass a background investigation, including a favorable motor vehicle record and criminal background report
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior experience performing building maintenance for an organization with multiple locations/campuses
Prior building maintenance experience in a higher education setting
Completion of a relevant training program, such as electrical, plumbing or EPA Universal, or certification or licensure in a relevant trade
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of basic construction, plumbing, electrical and preventive maintenance principles. Ability to safely use various tools and equipment, such as hammers, drills, saws, wrenches, snow shovels, compressors, golf carts, forklifts, motor vehicle, etc. Working knowledge of building systems, campus operational requirements and utility systems.
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with work order and preventative maintenance systems. Ability to frequently walk, stand, stoop, crawl, climb, bend, kneel, work on elevated surfaces, work in small/confined spaces, work overhead and be in awkward positions for extended period of time. Ability to regularly push, pull, lift, move and carry 30 to 50 pounds. Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as needed to support campus events and/or respond to maintenance and weather emergencies.
