Educational Assistant
Qualifications:
48 College Credits or an Associate's Degree or passed the State Title I Paraprofessional Test
Transcripts issued outside the United States must be evaluated by a recognized, accredited credential evaluation service to determine U.S. equivalency
Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible while responding to challenging behaviors and changing student needs
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of multidisciplinary educational team
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with district policies
Experience working with elementary-aged students with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities
Experience supporting students with sensory regulation needs and implementing sensory strategies
Lunch, recess, and bus arrival/dismissal supervision daily
Other duties as assigned by building Principal
Hourly rate: $20.00 per hour
*In accordance with S-414/A-3188 (http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2018/Bills/S0500/414_R2.HTM), school districts, charter schools, nonpublic schools, and contracted service providers ("employers") are required to review the last twenty years of employment history of prospective employees to ascertain allegations of child abuse or sexual misconduct. It explicitly prohibits such employers from hiring a person serving in a position which involves regular contact with students unless the employer conducts a review of the employment history of the applicant by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
