Overview

Arts & Science is seeking a talented Administrative Aide II to join the Department of History. This individual will perform a broad range of clerical, secretarial, and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the undergraduate/graduate departmental offerings and policies. Assist with the prioritization of office activities and delegate to and monitor work of student and/or casual employees. Compose letters and correspondence. Perform general word processing, spreadsheet and data entry duties utilizing intermediate-level functions. Monitor moderately complex budgets and/or grants.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent or an Associate's degree or some college.

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years of office experience (with High School diploma). 2 years of office experience (with Associates degree or some college).

Preferred Experience:
2+ years of office experience (with Bachelor's degree).

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate-level word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate-level Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple. Knowledge of desktop publishing software.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $39.129. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
