Job-Specific Responsibilities: The Data Scientist will have two responsibilities. &nbsp;Job-Specific Responsibilities:The Harvard Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology (HSCRB) is a cross-school department, committed to the advancement of biomedical research and to delivering innovative teaching at the interface of biology and medicine. HSCRB seeks an energetic, collaborative Assistant Director of Graduate Studies (ADGS) to lead the delivery of HSCRB graduate programming, including curriculum and training design, development and management, logistics and project management for master’s and doctoral programs. Reporting to the Department’s Director of Education, the ADGS will also play a pivotal role in continued innovation in the department’s teaching portfolio, and in student advising. The ADGS works closely with the SCRB Education Team to operationalize and strengthen course work, and to provide opportunities for additional learning, mentoring, and engagement. The ADGS will also oversee any staff supporting graduate education.Teaching and Course Development<ul><li>Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and continued innovation in how and what we teach. Co-lead course development which may include recommendation and implementation of course sequencing, scheduling, grading processes, and exam sessions. Act as an advising resource for faculty and other academics regarding educational strategies and formats.</li><li>May teach courses (typically one per year) as determined by field of expertise and the needs of the program. Researches and develops course program and materials.</li></ul>MS/MBA Program<ul><li>Advise students who are part of the MS/MBA in Biotechnology: Life Sciences joint degree program, providing guidance on course selection, requirements, and other aspects of curricular planning. Facilitates the process of finding appropriate science mentors for MS/MBA students. Oversees the capstone project.</li></ul>DRB Program<ul><li>Envision, oversee, and develop events and programs related to graduate academic affairs. Work closely with the faculty director(s) to develop course materials and assessments, coordinate TA activities, and manage online and in-person content for the course graduate course in the Developmental and Regenerative Biology (DRB) graduate program (Experimental Approaches to Stem Cell, Developmental, and Regenerative Biology). Organize and participate in activities to build and foster a sense of community among the DRB graduate community across campuses (particularly Longwood and Cambridge).</li></ul>Graduate Studies Administration<ul><li>Develop specialized reports to evaluate program success for the entirety of the HSCRB graduate portfolio (most notably MS/MBA in Biotechnology: Life Sciences and DRB programs); track and comply with any reporting requirements.
