29-May-2025<h4>Saladperson-Pantry Combo (term position)</h4>Campus Services 68247BRPosition Description<ul><li>Ensures salad bar items are prepared according to HUDS standards and readily available before and during meal periods.Reads and follows standardized recipes.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepares salad bar items according to daily menu.&nbsp;</li><li>Accurately records portion amount of food used during meals on service records.&nbsp;</li><li>Records amounts of salad bar items used on computerized production service record sheets.&nbsp;</li><li>Stocks salad refrigerator with appropriate items.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepares and packs boxed lunches as assigned.&nbsp;</li><li>Keeps refrigerator and work station clean and sanitized.&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrates a “Clean as you go” philosophy maintaining sanitary and organized work space and equipment.&nbsp;</li><li>Leaves workstation clean and re-stocked. May assist preparation personnel as assigned.&nbsp;</li><li>May set-up and break-down salad bar as assigned.</li><li>Utilizing knowledge of food allergies/intolerances, directs students/guests to safe menued. items and food storage areas such as refrigeration, freezer, and dry storage.&nbsp; Informs students/guests on foods to avoid by knowing the menu items and the ingredient listings or by referring them to the person in charge.&nbsp;</li><li>Recycles products per policy and procedure.&nbsp;</li><li>Accurately fills out sanitation and temperature logs and food service records as required.&nbsp;Informs person in charge when corrective action is needed in a timely manner.&nbsp;</li><li>Follows sanitation standards in compliance with all regulatory agencies including Harvard&nbsp;</li></ul>Environmental Health and Safety regulations.&nbsp;<ul><li>Communicates effectively&nbsp; and works cooperatively and respectfully with a diverse set of staff, management team and guests&nbsp;</li><li>Complies with State of Massachusetts and Dining Services’ “Food Employee Illness Policy”.&nbsp;</li><li>Works to meet the mission and core values of Harvard University Dining Services with enthusiasm and a spirit of cooperation.&nbsp;</li><li>Represents HUDS to students, faculty, staff and guests in a positive and professional manner.&nbsp;</li><li>Attends all trainings as assigned.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains current certifications as required.&nbsp;</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned&nbsp;</li></ul>Basic Qualifications<ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent.&nbsp;</li><li>Must have proficiency with the English language (speaking, reading and writing).&nbsp;</li><li>Some experience in commercial food service or hospitality industry.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to follow directions.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be neat in appearance and comply with proper dress code as designated by HUDS.&nbsp;</li><li>Must have proficiency with kitchen tools and equipment without restrictions.&nbsp;</li><li>Must have relevant knife skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be knowledgeable of food allergies and intolerances.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul> <ul><li>Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.&nbsp;</li><li>Must have strong multi-tasking skills.
