The Public Affairs division includes Marketing &amp; Digital Communications, Partnerships &amp; Outreach, Product Management &amp; Operations, and Public Relations. Our division’s work includes publishing the citywide Voter Guide, running the official citywide Debates Program, and managing the voter engagement initiative NYC Votes.The person who assumes this role will direct the Partnerships and Outreach Unit, which comprises 10 staff across two teams: Community Engagement and Education, and Outreach. This position reports to the Assistant Executive Director for Public Affairs. The Partnerships &amp; Outreach Unit identifies, targets, builds, and maintains strategic partnerships for the agency with community-based organizations, educational institutions, advocacy groups, non-profits, and other partners with the aim of increasing New Yorkers’ participation in city elections, particularly in underrepresented communities. In 2024, through the work of the Partnerships &amp; Outreach team we hosted 110 events for youth voters around the city, conducted over 150 educational workshops in underrepresented communities, distributed Voter Guides to over 400 partner sites across the five boroughs, hosted 500 outreach events in priority neighborhoods across the city, knocked on doors and engaged 6,000 voters in face-to-face conversations, conducted over 10,000 phone calls, collected more than 14,000 voter pledges, distributed over 15,000 pieces of literature, and sent over 1.9 million text messages to New York City voters. Through programming with organizational partners and direct outreach to New Yorkers, the Director of Partnerships &amp; Outreach will direct the agency’s outreach activities, including nonpartisan get-out-the-vote activities, community-based voter registration, civic education, and engagement programs aimed at increasing positive awareness of and participation in the matching funds program for city elections. We are seeking a Manager to lead the Neighborhoods Team, which is focused on building trusting relationships with community partners and delivering in-language voter education to voters that speak a language other than English (LOTE) in low voter turnout neighborhoods. The Neighborhoods Team works with community-based organizations, faith-based institutions, libraries, businesses, local groups, and other community partners to disseminate key election information and offer educational workshops covering topics such as Why Vote, How to Vote, Voting Rights, Voter Protections, and more. The Manager will be responsible for leading and supporting a growing team of neighborhood-based Coordinators to execute partnership building and education delivery across 13 languages. The Manager will oversee the unique strategies for engagement in each of our priority geographies and support Coordinators in attaining the resources required to meet the specific needs of each community. The Manager will work closely with the Associate Director to refine strategy, manage budget, measure impact, and navigate internal collaborations to support the Neighborhoods Team. The Office of People Operations delivers HR solutions to the agency as the liaison to external city government oversight for succession planning, payroll management, compliance, labor relations, and policy implementation. The Compliance Specialist will report to the Deputy Chief People Officer of Compliance, Payroll &amp; Labor Relations and will be part of a dynamic, service-oriented team responsible for developing and executing human capital strategies and initiatives to support the agency.
