Job-Specific Responsibilities: The CNS-nanofabrication facility (cleanroom) is the busiest lab in the field, and is supporting more than 900 users (in FY2019) from more than 250 internal and external research groups. The dry etching (RIE) and film depositions (CVD and PVD) are the most critical processes in the nanofabrication and includes more than 40 complex equipment plus ancillary facilities and supports more that 70-80% of users (600-800). The RIE Equipment Engineer is responsible for the equipment from RIE to other CVD areas and is the primary owner of more than 20 complex and heavily used tools, covering ICP-RIEs, PECVDs, sputtering deposition systems, and scrubbers. This position assists with the evaluation and installation of new and advanced nanofabrication tools and related processes.&nbsp;Evaluate, install and support state-of-the-art process equipment. Investigate and innovate new hardware configurations and functions of tools to commit the new process requirement for advanced research.&nbsp;&nbsp; Assist researchers, faculty, and students regarding experimental design and use of equipment, instruments, systems and facilities.Manages all cleanroom gases (more than 15 toxic and non-toxic gases) activities and related facilities/tools for nanofabrication, including gas inventory of ordering and maintaining, daily gas suppling and safety monitoring, gas cylinders and cabinets maintenance, toxic and nontoxic gas cylinder replacing safely into gas delivery systems, and new process gas investigation for new research applications.Manages and maintains spare parts inventory and critical components for more than 50 nanofabrication process tools (dry etching, CVDs, PVDs), including pumps, chambers, RF generators, controllers, chillers, scrubbers, compressors, and other hardware. Facilitates offsite repair of components used on equipment.Collaborates with staff and assists with the development of processes.Trains users on best safety practices and assist in monitoring laboratory safety compliance. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In this role you will…&nbsp;<ul><li>Design, implement and operate Network Security solutions.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Provide deep technical cybersecurity domain expertise with respect to Network Security posture management, threat detection and remediation, and Implementation of continuous monitoring.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Improve the posture of Network infrastructure designs and align them with strategic objectives and best practices.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Develop Network Security capabilities and evaluate innovative approaches secure our networks.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Use a systems thinking approach to understand the interconnectedness of various systems, processes, and technologies, enabling you to identify potential security risks and implement comprehensive solutions that address underlying systemic issues, rather than just fixing the symptoms. &nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Document security procedures, present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, implement security best practices, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the organization's security posture. &nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Mentor and provide guidance to junior security engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment and promoting the development of their technical and soft skills. &nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Champion a culture of collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement by working iteratively and adaptively with cross-functional teams to embed security into every process, while consistently delivering secure and compliant solutions on time.&nbsp;</li></ul><h4>Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Performs security risk, vulnerability assessments, and business impact analysis for medium complexity information systems</li><li>Carries out project reporting for assigned projects, monitoring project status, timeline and budgets</li><li>Assists in the planning and implementation of current and future security domains including those which may introduce new service areas</li><li>Adopts and follows security controls, processes, and procedures to manage risk across all information system environments (infrastructure, network, and applications) with the assistance of the application and infrastructure management teams</li><li>Monitors technology risk, identifies root cause or key themes, recommends for resolution</li><li>Investigates suspected attacks and manages security incidents. Uses forensics where appropriate</li><li>Reviews and shapes the production of evidence to support internal and external audits</li><li>Implements appropriate security measures for information systems and applications that control access to data, and prevents unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure of information</li><li>Develops and maintains metrics, alerts, dashboards, and reports for security monitoring</li><li>Maintains incident response plans and performs incident response activities as directed and in accordance with established procedures and guidelines and those of federal authorities</li><li>A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.</li></ul><h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Five or more years of experience in information technology, information security and/or cybersecurity.</li><li>US Citizenship Required.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology, Engineering, or related specialized field. &nbsp;</li><li>Three or more years of technology-related experience with specific focus on Network Security.&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts: i.e., threat modelling, incident response, etc.&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge and/or certification in SDN Network Security.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and its.&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge of Security Standards, Policies and Governance frameworks: i.e., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS.&nbsp;</li><li>Possess one or more of the following Information Security certifications: CISSP, GSEC, CRISC, CCSK, CISM, GWEB, GCTD, GCFR, GCPN, or similar professional certifications. &nbsp;</li><li>Possess one or more Technical or Professional certifications in Network Security: i.e., CCNP, OCSE.</li><li>Experience in DevOps and Agile methodologies.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with Development tooling: i.e., CI/CD pipelines, Git, Ticketing systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Great interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate within cross functional teams.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience in successfully presenting complex information to technical and non-technical teams. &nbsp;</li></ul>Additional Information<ul><li>This position’s work mode is&nbsp;hybrid.&nbsp;The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and&nbsp;reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.&nbsp;The work mode can be changed based on business needs.</li><li>Visit our&nbsp;Candidate Resource&nbsp;page to get meaningful information related to benefits, perks, resources, testing information, hiring process, and more!</li><li>Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.&nbsp;</li><li>Position may require up to 5 - 10% traveling between alternate SCE work location sites. &nbsp;</li><li>The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA.
