Job Summary

The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Department of Plant and Soil Sciences, is seeking an Purchasing Coordinator to join our team.

This position provides essential administrative and financial support and plays an important role in helping ensure the department’s day-to-day business operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include
  • Support purchasing and procurement activities by preparing SRM e-catalog orders for office and laboratory supplies, computers, and technical equipment, as well as preparing and tracking departmental purchase orders and PRD payments.
  • Process and maintain purchasing documentation, including goods confirmations and supporting documentation, ensuring transactions comply with University requirements and standards.
  • Manage departmental deposits by processing cash and check deposits and transmittals in accordance with University policies and procedures, maintaining accurate records, and communicating deposit information with faculty and staff.
  • Provide general administrative and financial support to the department, maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating accuracy, professionalism, and excellent customer service in all activities. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
