Job Summary

Support Innovation Through Exceptional Administrative Coordination and Operational Excellence

The University of Kentucky is seeking an Administrative Support Associate I to join the UK Innovate Technology Commercialization team.

This position provides essential administrative and operational support to a dynamic team responsible for advancing University innovations. The successful candidate will support daily office operations, coordinate meetings and events, assist with travel and onboarding activities, and serve as a key resource for administrative processes while maintaining a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with scheduling and calendar management for the Technology Commercialization Director, including coordination with university and external stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Director and professional staff, including preparation of agendas, meeting materials, minutes, correspondence, and confidential documents.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, expense documentation, and administrative requirements for faculty and staff.
  • Serve as an internal resource for office procedures related to travel, remote work, onboarding, reporting, and other business operations.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, seminars, interviews, and events sponsored by Technology Commercialization, UK Innovate, and Research units.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, employee transition activities, and candidate interview processes.
  • Assist with special projects and provide follow-up to help ensure initiatives remain on schedule and progress effectively.
  • Maintain office supplies and support administrative needs for on-campus, hybrid, and remote personnel.
  • Serve as a liaison between Technology Commercialization and other University administrative and executive offices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes, efficiency, communication, and customer service.

Preferred Education/Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in higher education, research administration, financial administration, office management, or a similarly complex professional environment. Experience with University of Kentucky administrative and financial systems, travel and expense processes, Procard administration, or related University business procedures is particularly desirable.
