POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE: Coordinator Special Projects CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time Staff - Exempt - Salary DIRECT SUPERVISION FROM: TCAT Shelbyville President OFFICE LOCATION(S): 2905 US 231 North, Shelbyville, TN 200 Dover St., Shelbyville, TN 925 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester, TN 204 Union St., Fayetteville, TN 1810 Wilson Pkwy., Fayetteville, TN HOURS: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; occasional evening hours required (minimum 37.5 hours/week) SALARY:
$42,353-$55,065 annually, commensurate with education and experience

FUNCTION OF THE JOB:

This position serves as a staff-level coordinator responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing institutional initiatives that support operational effectiveness, strategic priorities, and administrative functions.

The Coordinator allocates approximately 60% of time to special projects coordination and 40% to instruction in Technology Foundations courses, delivering foundational skills in computer applications, digital literacy, and data interpretation to support student success.

The position serves as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements are met while supporting institutional effectiveness through data-informed decision-making.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and manage special projects aligned with institutional and administrative priorities
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Coordinate and track progress against project plans; adjust as needed to ensure successful completion
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and communicate updates to stakeholders
  • Conduct research, compile data, and prepare reports to support leadership decision-making
  • Assist with grant-related activities, including documentation, tracking expenditures, and supporting compliance requirements
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for assigned projects and institutional initiatives
  • Coordinate scheduling of campus events, meetings, and facility usage as assigned
  • Support institutional reporting, audits, and accreditation efforts as requested
  • Develop tools, templates, and processes to improve efficiency, organization, and accuracy
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and outcomes
  • Ensure effective communication of pertinent information to faculty, staff, and administration
  • Assist with procurement processes and ensure resources are utilized appropriately
  • Deliver Technology Foundations instruction to high school and adult students as assigned
  • Teach foundational skills in computer applications, digital literacy, and data interpretation
  • Administer assessments; interpret and communicate results to students and staff
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress; maintain accurate records and reports
  • Collaborate with instructors and staff to support student retention and completion
  • Maintain instructional materials and participate in curriculum updates and improvements
  • Maintain required certifications and participate in professional development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in project coordination, instruction, administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of practical experience teaching essential reading, writing, and math skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to deliver instruction in Technology Foundations, including computer applications, digital literacy, and data interpretation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required testing certifications within one (1) calendar month of hire
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in higher education or public sector environment
  • Experience teaching adult learners or foundational/technical courses
  • Familiarity with project management tools or reporting systems
  • Experience with data tracking, reporting, or compliance-related functions
  • Experience learning management systems (LMS) and Banner
