Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist provides support to the Street Legal Corporate Office and reports to the Vice President. This position is 100% on-site. Street Legal is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Corporate Office in Oak Ridge, TN. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing the company's payroll process, labor management, timekeeping, scheduling support, and payroll-related compliance. This position ensures employees are paid accurately and on time while helping management maintain appropriate staffing levels, control labor costs, and follow company policies and applicable employment regulations. Duties include:
  • High School Diploma plus 3-5 years of applicable experience
  • Oversee the complete payroll process from timekeeping through final payroll submission.
  • Review and verify employee hours, overtime, PTO, holiday pay, bonuses, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and according to established deadlines.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
  • Coordinate with management and employees regarding payroll questions or concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information.
  • Assist with payroll-related audits, reporting, and recordkeeping.
  • Review and approve timecard corrections in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure employees and managers follow established timekeeping procedures.
  • Monitor labor hours and staffing levels to help ensure efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with managers to maintain appropriate staffing levels based on business needs.
  • Prepare regular labor reports for management.
  • Serve as a point of contact for payroll, timekeeping, attendance, and labor-related questionss/
  • Communicate company policies and procedures regarding payroll, attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping.
  • Maintain professional and confidential communication when handling employee issues.
  • Help ensure payroll and labor practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Stay informed about changes that may affect payroll, overtime, minimum wage, paid leave, and other employment requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
  • Ensure required payroll and employee documentation is maintained appropriately.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in payroll, labor management, accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of payroll and timekeeping processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to oversee confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze labor and payroll data and identify discrepancies or trends.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with management and employees.
  • Due to the nature of government contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Pay Rate: $70,000 - $90,000 per year PCI Federal (PCIF) and its subsidiaries are an equal-opportunity employer.
