Job Summary

The Director of Specialty Pharmacy will provide clinical leadership for UK Specialty Pharmacy’s self-administered medication and centralized services while supporting ongoing accreditation and compliance activities. The Director of Specialty Pharmacy will serve as the Senior Clinical lead for purposes of accreditation. Working closely with Specialty Pharmacy leadership, this position will plan and implement programs aligned with UK HealthCare enterprise goals. The Director will also support Trade Relations by collaborating with pharmaceutical manufacturers to expand access to limited-distribution and other specialty medications and develop partnerships that advance patient access, clinical outcomes, and organizational priorities. Programs and services will comply with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and quality and medication safety principles while promoting operational efficiency, responsible revenue growth, waste reduction, staff well-being, and continuous performance improvement.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Clinical therapeutics knowledge; strong clinical and leadership skills; knowledge of retail and community pharmacy operations; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

Preferred Education/Experience

Pharm D with PGY2 in Health System Pharmacy Administration preferred. Master’s degree in business and/or healthcare administration also preferred.
