Job Summary

A Scientist I position is available in the Department of Molecular & Cellular Biochemistry, University of Kentucky (http://www.mc.uky.edu/biochemistry/). The successful candidate will study how collagen modifying enzymes influence the development and homeostasis of collagen rich connective tissues during health and diseases.

The candidates should have a degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline and publish at least three research articles in international peer-reviewed journals as the first author. The successful candidate should have practical knowledge of biochemical, molecular biological, and animal handling techniques (e.g. cloning, immunochemistry, gene expression and protein isolation, animal disease modeling, etc.). Demonstrated expertise in one of the following areas would be advantageous: cancer, fibrosis, connective tissue diseases, and drug discovery.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Gene transfection, cell culture, animal disease modeling, immunohistochemistry, western blotting.
