Job Description

The Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS) Product team is at the heart of American Express and is a core function within the GMNS business unit. Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving Issuing & Acquiring partners in more than 170 markets worldwide. We grow revenue by driving strategic, multi-year initiatives to deliver differentiated value to our merchants, partners, and customers.

Our solutions deliver value to American Express’ Card Members, acquirers, and partners across the globe through both proprietary and third-party capabilities, facilitating secure and seamless transactions between issuers, acquirers, and merchants. Our goal is to enable Card Members to pay however and wherever they choose. We deliver on this by setting the vision and strategy for the Network, anchoring our priorities to enterprise objectives, and developing and managing a portfolio of products. We maintain a strong customer focus, consider competitive and regulatory dynamics, and apply an end-to-end product management approach across strategy, roadmaps, scaling plans, and performance metrics. We lead the end-to-end process, manage the partner lifecycle, and drive industry intelligence and engagement through key governing bodies.

The Agentic Commerce Solutions team is responsible for defining and enabling the future of Agentic Commerce across the Amex Global Network. As AI-driven agents, digital wallets, and automated commerce experiences evolve, we are shaping how the Network supports secure, scalable, and commercially compelling agent-based transactions. Our focus spans tokenization, digital identity, and emerging network capabilities required to power next-generation commerce.

  • Support testing activities, including validation of requirements and coordination of feedback
  • Conduct research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments in agentic and digital commerce
  • Support internal communications and preparation of materials for stakeholder updates

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in product management, payments, consulting, or related roles

  • Interest in emerging technologies such as AI-driven commerce or digital identity

  • Experience supporting technical or product teams in a delivery environment

  • This role is suited for an early-career product professional who is building foundational product management and execution skills. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a strong willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
