Joining Amex Tech means discovering and shaping your contribution to something big. Here, you can work alongside talented tech teams and build a unique career with the Powerful Backing of American Express. With a range of opportunities to work with the latest technologies, and a commitment to back the broader engineering community through open source, our mission is to power your success. Because Amex Tech is powered by our technology, our culture, and our colleagues.

Amex Digital Labs’ mission is to build the future of payments and membership, creating new value that evolves with our customers' needs and drives deeper engagement and loyalty. We leverage emerging technologies to deliver innovations that enhance how customers pay, travel, dine, and experience the brand.

We are seeking a Senior Associate Product Manager to support the day-to-day product and technical execution of next-generation customer experiences powered by generative and agentic AI. Working closely with a senior product manager, this role will help translate the product roadmap into clear requirements and execution plans, partnering with engineering to keep delivery moving.

You will work closely with engineering and cross-functional partners across data science, design, and analytics. The role is well suited for someone with hands-on experience working on a technical or AI-enabled product who can quickly ramp into the details of LLM-based systems and agentic workflows while maintaining a strong focus on customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of the product roadmap for generative and agentic AI-powered customer experiences by translating priorities into clear requirements, user stories, and day-to-day deliverables.

  • Partner closely with the dedicated engineering team to manage the product backlog, clarify requirements, support sprint execution, and help remove blockers.

  • Support technical product development activities including solutioning, prompt development, testing, and evaluation of generative and agentic AI experiences.

  • Collaborate with design, data science, analytics, and other cross-functional partners to support the development and iteration of intuitive customer experiences.

  • Use product data, testing results, and customer feedback to identify issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Support documentation and coordination needed to deliver solutions in accordance with enterprise standards, compliance, and risk management practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • 2-4 years of product management or related experience working on a technical, digital, or customer-facing product; experience with AI-enabled products is preferred.

  • Working understanding of generative AI concepts, including Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt design, testing/evaluation approaches, or agentic workflows.

  • Ability to work closely with engineering teams, understand technical concepts, and translate product needs into clear requirements leveraging product delivery tools such as Rally, Jira, or Confluence.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • A passion for AI, product experimentation, and the future of digital customer experiences.
