Job Description

The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) Product organization is seeking a Senior Manager, Digital Product Management to join our Digital Wallets team and help shape the future of digital payments at American Express.

Within GMNS Product, the Network Product team develops and manages payment products and services for American Express Global Network issuers, acquirers and merchants. Our remit spans existing Network capabilities, development of new products and services, and the end-to-end partner lifecycle. Our solutions support both proprietary and third-party partners globally, enabling secure and seamless transactions across the American Express Network.

We are looking for a product leader to own the Apple Pay product strategy and roadmap across the American Express Network. This role will lead new capabilities end to end, from prioritization and discovery through delivery and go-to-market, while serving as a key Product interface with Apple, Digital Labs and internal Network teams. This is a highly visible role at the intersection of payments, technology, customer experience, and one of the world’s leading technology platforms.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Own the Apple Pay product strategy, roadmap, and feature backlog for the American Express Network, setting priorities and identifying opportunities to create greater value for customers, issuing partners, and the business
  • Drive product decisions and tradeoffs, balancing customer and issuer value, business impact, technical complexity, partner priorities, compliance, and delivery capacity
  • Lead product discovery and requirements definition for new features and capabilities, translating customer, partner, and business needs into clear requirements and working with Product Owners and Technology teams to enable development
  • Drive new capabilities from concept through launch, partnering with Product Owners, Technology, Partner Enablement, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Marketing and other teams to manage dependencies, resolve issues, and coordinate go-to-market readiness
  • Lead the Network product relationship with Digital Labs and Apple, shaping joint priorities, evaluating new partner requirements and opportunities, and representing the Network Product perspective in strategic and day-to-day product discussions
  • Measure and improve product performance, using customer and issuer feedback, behavioral data, experimentation, and market insights to identify opportunities and continuously improve the Apple Pay experience
  • Anticipate what’s next in digital payments, monitoring Apple’s ecosystem, emerging technologies, customer behavior, and the competitive landscape and translating them into opportunities for the American Express Network

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a product leader who is equally comfortable thinking strategically and getting into the details required to deliver. You bring strong product judgment, curiosity, and customer empathy, and you thrive in environments where success depends on collaboration, influence, and navigating complexity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of digital product management experience, with a track record of building and launching high-impact digital products or experiences
  • Demonstrated end-to-end product ownership, leadership, and judgment, with the ability to operate in ambiguity, independently structure complex problems, develop a point of view, prioritize competing needs, make decisions with imperfect information, and drive work from strategy through execution
  • Strong technical fluency and experience partnering closely with engineering teams, with the ability to understand technical considerations and translate between business, customer, partner, and technology needs
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics, develop clear recommendations, and build alignment across working teams, senior leaders, and external partners
  • Experience building strong relationships across organizational boundaries, including the ability to collaborate effectively with external partners and navigate competing priorities
  • Analytical rigor, with experience using quantitative and qualitative insights to diagnose problems, evaluate opportunities, measure performance, and inform product decisions
  • A highly customer-centric mindset, with strong instincts for what makes an exceptional digital experience and a willingness to challenge existing approaches when there is a better way
  • Intellectual curiosity and systems thinking, with the ability to connect customer, technology, market, and business signals and translate them into actionable insights and product opportunities
  • Adaptability and a test-and-learn mindset, with a willingness to experiment, seek feedback, learn quickly, and adjust course as new information emerges
  • Experience in digital payments, wallets, fintech, consumer technology, platform products, or related digital ecosystems preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
