Job Summary
The Aboobucker Lab in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at the University of Kentucky is seeking a motivated undergraduate student to assist with field and laboratory research this fall semester.
Responsibilities include:
- Harvesting corn ears from field research plots
- Shelling corn and processing seed samples
- Organizing, labeling, and packaging seed stocks with accurate records
- Preparing laboratory reagents and solutions
- Assisting with molecular and flow cytometry experiments to determine plant genotype and ploidy levels
- Supporting ongoing maize genetics and breeding research projects
This position provides hands-on experience in plant genetics, field research, laboratory techniques, and flow cytometry. Students interested in plant biology, genetics, agriculture, biotechnology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
