Position Purpose

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, CE Dealer Sales & Dealer Development, the Vice President, Distribution Development, North America is responsible for developing and executing JCB's long-term distribution growth strategy across the United States and Canada. This executive leadership role is accountable for expanding market coverage, accelerating dealer performance, strengthening customer experience, and ensuring profitable growth across both the Construction Equipment and Agricultural divisions.

The Vice President leads an organization of 32 professionals, including three direct-report leaders, and holds full responsibility for the strategic growth, operational performance, and expansion of JCB's manufacturer-owned dealer group, which is anticipated to grow to 25 locations by 2027. This individual will drive dealer recruitment, acquisitions, greenfield development, and network transformation initiatives while building a best-in-class dealer organization capable of supporting JCB's ambitious growth objectives throughout North America.

As a key member of JCB North America's Executive Leadership Team, this role will influence enterprise strategy, partner cross-functionally with senior leaders, and serve as a visible ambassador of the JCB brand to dealers, customers, acquisition targets, industry partners, and key stakeholders.

Travel

Extensive travel throughout the United States and Canada is required to support dealer development, acquisitions, market expansion, company-owned operations, customer engagement, and strategic growth initiatives.

Occasional international travel will be required to participate in leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, dealer development forums, and alignment activities with JCB's global leadership teams.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

Distribution Network Growth & Expansion

  • Develop and execute JCB's North American dealer development strategy to achieve full market coverage.
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure new dealer partners in strategic growth markets.
  • Lead dealer acquisition, succession planning, and greenfield expansion initiatives.
  • Establish a scalable dealer network capable of supporting significant revenue and market share growth.
  • Drive agricultural dealer network expansion and penetration strategies.

Manufacturer-Owned Dealer Operations

  • Provide executive leadership for JCB's manufacturer-owned dealer network.
  • Drive operational excellence, profitability, customer satisfaction, and market growth across company-owned locations.
  • Lead strategic expansion plans supporting growth to 25 locations by 2027.
  • Ensure consistent operational standards, customer experiences, and financial performance.

Dealer Performance & Capability Development

  • Establish performance expectations, accountability measures, and business operating standards across the network.
  • Improve dealer capabilities in sales, service, parts, rental, customer support, and market development.
  • Lead dealer performance improvement initiatives that drive profitability and customer loyalty.
  • Implement best practices, benchmarking processes, and performance management tools.

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing organization of 32 professionals.
  • Build succession plans and leadership pipelines across the dealer development function.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product Support, Finance, Parts, Marketing, Manufacturing, Human Resources, and Executive Leadership.

Commercial Excellence

  • Develop growth strategies that increase market penetration, dealer profitability, and market share.
  • Lead strategic negotiations with dealer principals, acquisition candidates, and business partners.
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen channel effectiveness and customer outcomes.
  • Evaluate market opportunities, competitive dynamics, and industry trends to inform business strategy.

Customer & Dealer Experience

  • Champion a customer-centric culture throughout the distribution network.
  • Ensure dealers consistently deliver exceptional sales, service, and ownership experiences.
  • Strengthen dealer engagement, retention, and long-term business sustainability.
  • Represent JCB with key customers, dealer principals, and industry stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience within construction equipment, agricultural equipment, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success leading dealer development, channel management, market expansion, acquisitions, distribution strategy, and executive leadership initiatives.
  • Proven experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience influencing executive stakeholders and driving enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Strong financial, commercial, and operational acumen.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout North America.
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other advanced business degree.
  • Experience leading manufacturer-owned dealership operations.
  • Experience executing dealer acquisitions, mergers, and integration strategies.
  • Experience supporting both Construction Equipment and Agricultural dealer networks.
  • Experience leading large-scale channel transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success working within global or multinational manufacturing organizations.
