Job Description

As the Driver for the Partial Care Program, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the program. Your primary responsibility is to transport participants to and from their homes and the Partial Care facility, creating a safe and comfortable travel experience. Additionally, you may be tasked with delivering meals and durable medical equipment, requiring careful handling and attention to detail. This position also involves administrative duties, such as completing documentation and supporting quality assurance studies. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team, collaborating with clinical and mental health professionals to provide comprehensive care. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Transport Partial Care Program participants to and from their homes and the program facility.
  • Deliver meals and durable medical equipment as needed, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
  • Complete documentation for meals and other tasks, maintaining accurate records.
  • Develop and dispatch routes for efficient transportation, optimizing travel time.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure the van is in optimal condition.
  • Assist in quality assurance studies, providing feedback and insights to improve customer service.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, communicating effectively with staff and clients.
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable travel environment, adhering to all established laws and regulations.
  • Ensure corrected vision and hearing within the normal range for safe driving.
  • Lift and carry up to 30 pounds using appropriate body mechanics and equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Commercial Driver's License is mandatory, with a driving record that meets insurance standards.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire or transfer.
  • Prior experience driving a van is preferred, demonstrating a strong understanding of safe driving practices.
  • Specialty Certification is required, ensuring expertise in the field.
  • Acute Partial Hospitalization Program experience is an asset, providing relevant knowledge and skills.
  • American Heart Association Heart Saver First Aid (HSFA) certification is mandatory within 90 days of hire.
  • CPI certification is required within 90 days of hire, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Physical ability to sit, drive, bend, and stoop frequently, and lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
