POSITION SUMMARY This position is a nine-month faculty position responsible for preparing and delivering quality instruction in Communication. This position may include opportunities to support Communication course leadership efforts, such as contributing to assessment or supporting adjunct faculty.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Teaching assignments are possible at any campus or site at which NSCC instruction takes place. Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, teach a minimum of 15 hours and hold office hours. Work with Course Leads, Department Chair, and Dean to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Associate Degree preferred. • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in industry. • In-depth knowledge of electronics, variable frequency drives, mechanical maintenance, electrical motor controls, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, PLC (RSLogix), instrumentation, predictive and preventative maintenance, and industrial robotics. • Familiarity with safety protocols and industrial standards. • Must possess computer skills and knowledge of emerging technologies in manufacturing and automation. • Skilled in managing deadlines and working in a team-oriented environment. • Committed to utilizing technology in teaching/learning experience and willingness to stay up to date in developing instructional technologies. Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students is a plus.
