Description Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Criticality Safety Engineer to work in our Criticality Safety Department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls, Idaho facility with every other Friday off. Apply nuclear physics, ANSI/ANS-8 series industry standards, unique computer codes, and state-of-the-art neutron cross section data to derive administrative and engineered controls for the prevention of an inadvertent nuclear chain reaction. Interface with facility operations staff to develop criticality safety controls specific to the facility and operation. Determines safe parameters for safe handling, processing, and storage for the various forms of fissionable materials. This position is part of the INL Nuclear Nexus. Benefits you can count on: <ul><li>Day 1 Benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA, and company-paid life insurance </li><li>Paid time off begins day one.</li><li>401(k) Profit Sharing Plan after 90 days.</li><li>Additional benefits: pet insurance, maternity/paternity leave, employee assistance programs, discount programs, tuition reimbursement program, and more!</li></ul> What you'll do as a Transportation and Systems Analyst: <ul><li>Complete static, cyclical, and seasonal routing using provided routing software. </li><li>Create baseline data and full routing complement to Dispatchers and Transportation Managers using routing software.</li><li>Provide divisional support and technical assistance for transportation systems, including but not limited to user updates, data management, and system maintenance. </li><li>Develop summarized reports and conduct analysis of transportation performance to key executives throughout the company. </li><li>Analyze and summarize transportation systems software data and routing software data to assess expected and actual performance to plan. </li><li>Continually improve the routing process to reduce miles, improve customer estimated times of arrival, and reduce the overall workload within the department. </li><li>Work with key executives and Transportation department personnel to properly use a rolling asset tracking system and provide timely reporting and data analysis to improve a truck driver's ability to deliver product in an efficient manner.</li><li>Provide transportation systems support, best practices, metrics, and reporting. </li><li>Other duties may be assigned.</li></ul> Qualifications you'll bring as a Transportation and Systems Analyst: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>Three or more years of relevant experience in dispatching, freight management/brokerage, or process engineering.</li><li>Knowledge of routing software is a plus. </li><li>Understanding of fleet tracking software PeopleNet knowledge a plus. </li><li>Solid working knowledge of data management tools, including databases and spreadsheets particularly SQL, Access, and Excel; be functional with other Microsoft Office programs Word, Outlook). </li><li>Be able to provide 24-7 transportation systems support. </li><li>This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.
