Educational Assistant - (Anticipated Opening)
Qualifications:
48 College Credits or an Associate's Degree or passed the State Title I Paraprofessional Test
Transcripts issued outside the United States must be evaluated by a recognized, accredited credential evaluation service to determine U.S. equivalency
Individual must be patient, flexible and collaborative
Excellent communication and organizational skills with teachers and students
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality while also presenting a positive image of the District to members of the community
Provide instructional reinforcement of academic skills and content to students
Ability to work on a team to support student academic and behavioral needs
Experience with behavior management and behavior goals
Other duties as assigned by a Supervisor or Principal
Hourly rate: $20.00 per hour
*In accordance with S-414/A-3188 (http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2018/Bills/S0500/414_R2.HTM), school districts, charter schools, nonpublic schools, and contracted service providers ("employers") are required to review the last twenty years of employment history of prospective employees to ascertain allegations of child abuse or sexual misconduct. It explicitly prohibits such employers from hiring a person serving in a position which involves regular contact with students unless the employer conducts a review of the employment history of the applicant by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
