We take pride in hiring and retaining the most dynamic, talented, and passionate professionals who will help us continue to innovate for decades to come.The University is building the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine, or the IllinoisCOM (pre-accreditation status), anticipated to open for its first class of students in summer 2026 with a Mission to train exceptional physicians to leverage the interconnection of physical and mental health to provide compassionate, patient-centered care of the highest quality.&nbsp;PRINCIPAL DUTIESLeadership &amp; Administration<ul><li>Provide leadership and supervision for preclinical osteopathic medical students within IllinoisCOM.</li><li>Participate as faculty in the first and second year PCOP courses.</li><li>Lead PCOP lecture and lab didactic sessions as assigned and mutually agreed upon with the OMM Department Chair</li><li>Assist with curriculum development and assessment in the PCOP course as needed.</li></ul>Teaching, Curriculum Development, &amp; Student Success<ul><li>Contribute to the development and delivery of an innovative, interdisciplinary PCOP curriculum.</li><li>Teach medical students using evidence-based instructional methods, including case-based learning and OMM lab supervision and table training</li><li>Support student coaching, mentoring, and professional development in academic and clinical settings.</li><li>Collaborate with other faculty and clinical educators to integrate PCOP content across the curriculum.</li></ul>Service<ul><li>Represent the College in professional organizations and events.</li><li>Assist where needed with student recruitment, including interviews, and community outreach efforts.</li><li>Serve as a member of the Illinois COM committees as mutually agreed upon with the OMM Chair.</li><li>Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education.</li><li>Engage in clinical practice (strongly encouraged).</li></ul>Research &amp; Scholarly Activity<ul><li>Promote a culture of research and scholarship.</li></ul>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>DO with board certification &nbsp;or eligibility in related specialty.</li><li>At least 3 years of experience in medical education (includes participation during residency training for new graduates and early career physicians)</li><li>Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and student mentorship.</li><li>Strong supervisory, interpersonal communication (verbal and written), and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Motivation to contribute to the growth and development of the OMM department and overall university.</li><li>Commitment to collaborative, interprofessional education and the integration of osteopathic principles and practice in training.</li><li>At least 3 years of clinical practice and teaching experience (can include residency and fellowship training for new graduates and early career physicians).</li><li>Proficiency in basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, including Powerpoint, Word, Outlook and Excel</li></ul>IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Experience as a course or co-course director in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Physician Skills or other clinical, haptic and tactile based course at an accredited Osteopathic medical school</li><li>Experience as Program Director or faculty in an ONMM +1 residency program or OMM Department.</li><li>Osteopathic Medical Student precepting in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and/or other clinical setting.</li><li>Established record of research and scholarly activity in medical education or respective specialty.</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to health equity, diversity, and inclusion in clinical practice and medical education.</li></ul>POSITION DETAILS<ul><li>This opportunity is budgeted at $100,000 – $130,000 annual base compensation, commensurate with rank and experience.
