The Director is responsible for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education program which grants technical certificates. The Director will lead, organize, supervise, manage, and implement all aspects of the program, including classroom and online course development and instruction, curriculum development, marketing, recruitment and advising of students, budgeting, and faculty supervision and support, and revision/modification of all program components as needed. Position includes teaching responsibilities, including clinical practicum and capstone courses. The Program Director holds a 12-month faculty position with release time each term based on the size of the program, as determined by the Dean and VPAA. This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction using integrative technologies. Faculty are expected to provide academic advising to students and participate in college, department, and community activities related to the College’s mission.
Job Duties:
Teach 38-42 TLE per year via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned with both teaching and approved release time included in this expectation. Typically, the EMS program director receives 6 TLE release time per term. Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment, and distance-based courses as required. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution. Currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Tennessee Paramedic, without a history of revocation, denial, or suspension of licensure and meet the requirements established by the Commission on Allied of Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation from the Committee on Accreditation of Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP), and the Tennessee Department of Health Division of EMS. Licensed emergency care experience shall include a minimum of three years practice. Minimum of three (3) years practicing in the pre-hospital emergency environment or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years in EMS education administration or, greater than three hundred (300) hours of EMS instruction. Administrative experience shall include a minimum of two years in EMS educational administration. Current endorsement in a Board approved trauma, cardiac, and pediatric course at the provider level. Documented education or experience in instructional methodology. Be knowledgeable about the current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards and about evidenced-informed clinical practice.

This critical role ensures that the College’s information systems are protected from internal and external threats by developing, implementing, and maintaining security protocols and training programs.
