The Director of Workforce Development provides strategic leadership in designing, implementing, and evaluating workforce education and training initiatives that align with regional labor market needs. Job Duties
1. Lead/oversee the Workforce Division (Workforce Development, Community Outreach and Placement, Tennessee Small Business Development Center).
2. Recruit, build, and maintain various networks with area businesses, employers and other partners/agencies to "sell" RSCC products (workforce &amp; training) in counties served by Roane State.
3. Meet with existing companies across our service area to determine their "workforce pain points" and develop programs to solve their problems or connect graduates for work-based learning opportunities and open positions they have.
4. Work with Economic Developers in the region to recruit new industry.
5. Identify industrial trends in our region and help develop new credit and/or non-credit degrees and certificates.
6. Develop non-credit courses and deliver the training.
7. Facilitate community groups.
8. Work with the Tennessee Board of Regents Workforce office to collect and report workforce data from our service area and respond to state-wide opportunities as requested.
9. Seek and manage Workforce grants ranging from small to large dollar amounts. Act as lead for grants at times.
10. Lead our Workforce division made up of seven workforce exempt employees and three support/non-exempt employees.
11. Participant and sometimes serve as keynote speaker or panel member on workforce related topics at conferences.
12. Represent the college on the TN Valley Corridor organization and lead workforce efforts across five states.
13. Develop relationships for grants and other initiatives with TN Colleges of Applied Technology in our region.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 5 plus years of direct job-related experience, including grants and grant writing. Experience securing external funding, managing budgets, and overseeing large-scale workforce initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record of building and sustaining collaborations with business, industry, and government agencies. Demonstrated ability to align workforce programs with institutional goals and regional economic priorities. Strong skills in labor market analysis, program evaluation, and reporting outcomes to stakeholders.

This role is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and executing investments in asset managers and developing insurance-optimized strategies that advance NLG Capital’s objectives as a best-in-class insurance investment platform.&nbsp;The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in GP Staking and platform underwriting, motivated by the opportunity to deploy permanent, insurance-aligned capital into partnerships that combine alignment of interests, proprietary deal flow, and sustainable long-term growth.This position currently offers an onsite work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office four days per week during onsite core days. Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.&nbsp; The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.<h4>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h4><h5>GP Investments</h5><ul><li>Underwrite and execute GP and platform-level investments in private asset managers.</li><li>Structure and negotiate investments that provide governance rights, long-term economic alignment, and access to proprietary pipelines.</li><li>Drive post-investment engagement to deepen relationships and unlock co-investment and new product opportunities.</li></ul><h5>Market Mapping &amp; Intelligence</h5><ul><li>Maintain a dynamic market map of the private asset ecosystem, with focus on asset manager M&amp;A, minority stake opportunities, and capital formation trends.</li><li>Identify high-potential managers across private credit, real assets, and specialty finance.</li><li>Monitor new entrants, capital raisers, consolidators, and specialty platforms with partnership potential.</li><li>Bring a forward-leaning perspective on how asset manager business models are evolving and where value is being created.</li></ul><h5>Insurance-Aligned Strategy Development</h5><ul><li>Partner with GPs to design differentiated, insurance-optimized strategies in private credit, asset backed finance, and real estate.</li><li>Assess business plans, platform growth strategies, and manager economics for alignment with NLG Capital’s risk-return and liability-matching objectives.</li><li>Build a repeatable framework for seeding new products that meet insurance and institutional capital requirements.</li></ul><h5>Cross-Functional &amp; External Collaboration</h5><ul><li>Work across legal, finance, and executive leadership to structure and close complex transactions.</li><li>Represent NLG Capital externally with GPs, LPs, and other stakeholders, positioning the firm as a partner of choice in GP Solutions.</li><li>Contribute to internal strategy, helping define NLG Capital’s differentiated role in the private markets ecosystem.</li></ul><h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree required</li><li>12+ years in private equity, private credit, investment banking, or asset management M&amp;A.</li><li>Strong preference for experience underwriting GP or platform-level investments in credit, structured finance, or real assets.</li><li>Familiarity with liability-driven investing, and insurance regulatory capital frameworks is considered a plus.</li><li>Exceptional skills in&nbsp;financial modeling, valuation, and transaction structuring.</li><li>Ability to evaluate&nbsp;both manager-level economics and platform-level strategic value.</li><li>Strong investment committee and presentation skills.</li><li>Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and low-ego approach.</li><li>Proven ability to&nbsp;source, structure, and execute GP investments&nbsp;that deliver differentiated outcomes.</li></ul><h4>Preferred Qualifications</h4><ul><li>MBA, CFA, or equivalent credentials preferred.</li></ul><h4>Benefits</h4><ul><li>Your benefits start day one and are flexible and customizable to your and your family’s specific needs.
