The laboratory of Dr. Chandan K Sen at the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine (affiliated with the Department of Surgery) at the University of Pittsburgh is committed to excellence in research, which drives our commitment to seek out and train the best of the next generation of biomedical scientists.

We are interested in recruiting a full-time Postdoctoral Associate in the field of Functional Genomics of Chronic Wounds focusing on the functional role of Single Nucleotide Variation (SNV) and Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) followed by multiomic integration in chronic wound re-epithelialization and vascularization.

Qualifications:
• Years of experience - 3 years
• Degree requirements - Ph.D. in Human and Clinical Genetics, Biotechnology, or related fields
• Additional skills - Expertise in multi-omics integration, human genetics, functional genomics, gene editing

Job Summary:
The Postdoctoral Associate will work on independent and collaborative projects assessing the functional role of Single Nucleotide Variation (SNV) and Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) followed by multiomic integration to discover pathways regulating wound re-epithelialization and wound healing. The successful applicant should have experience in multi-omics integration, human genetics, functional genomics, and gene editing techniques. Expertise in Systems Biology, and molecular and cellular biology is required. Expertise to perform RNA-seq, WES, proteomics, and metabolomics data analysis is beneficial. Hands-on experience with handling human and animal tissue samples and experience with design/execution/analysis of experiments are required.

The qualified applicant will be required to conduct research, interpret results, prepare manuscripts, and aid in the preparation of grant applications. The required expertise includes all basic laboratory techniques and experience in advanced molecular techniques such as in library preparation, DNA and RNA processing etc.. The applicant should have command of the English language, good interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, critical thinking ability and evidence of experience and good writing skills through first author publications in peer reviewed journals. The applicant should also be proficient in computer software usage including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical packages.
