To learn more about us, please visit our website: <a href="http://www.akdhc.com" target="_blank">www.akdhc.com</a>.Bilingual Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Assistant, Front Office - AKDHC Thunderbird OfficeUnder the direction of the Office Coordinator, the Bilingual Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Assistant, Front Office will be responsible for performing general medical assistant functions in support of the care and treatment of patients while providing assistance to all office personnel as needed.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Perform patient care activities, such as back-office check-in, check-out, prescription refills, anemia, and iron management, administer injections, schedule procedures and provide patient education.</li><li>Schedule and process 24-hour blood pressure monitoring.</li><li>Interview patients, measure vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height; and update medication list; record information in patients’ charts/EMR to include urine tests per Clinitek.</li><li>Notify physician of changes in patient’s clinical status and/or abnormal test results.</li><li>Collect urine samples and process specimens for courier transport.</li><li>Monitor and optimize allotted time slots in all schedules utilizing the available programs/reports.</li><li>Complete clerical tasks including but not limited to distributing mail and reports, filing, scanning, scheduling, data input, answering phones and general support to all office personnel.</li><li>Adhere to company policies and procedures and prioritize and complete day to day activities.</li><li>Maintain office equipment, office, and medical supplies through efficient inventory management.</li><li>Process Hospital Disposition Reports.</li><li>Process Recall Reports and mail recall and no-show letters to patients; follow up with patients and/or primary care physicians as needed.</li><li>Monitor dictation process by maintaining accurate dictation logs, ensuring physician review and signature, mailing report and scanning dictation into patient files.</li><li>Process medical record requests for patients, referring physician offices and attorneys by adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure HPI.</li><li>Assist in the annual purging process of patient charts.</li><li>May be required to report to alternate AKDHC worksites, as directed.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Current certification as a Medical Assistant or a diploma or certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant course of training from an accredited training organization</li><li>Bilingual Spanish and English skills in speaking, reading, and writing</li><li>Excellent customer service and communication skills for interfacing with patients, staff, and outside vendors</li><li>1-2 years front/back office experience preferred</li><li>Ability to support a pleasant, positive, and cooperative teamwork environment</li><li>The successful candidate must be able to use a stethoscope, computer, scanner, printer, telephone, fax, and copier.</li><li>Ability to multi-task and lift and/or move 50 pounds essential.</li></ul>Benefits:We value our employees’ time and efforts. You will also be responsible for assisting the Principal Investigator and ancillary staff in educating patients about research studies. &nbsp;Clinical Research will include clinical trials in our regular nephrology offices, as well as our surgery center and dialysis units.Your responsibilities as the Bilingual Clinical Research Coordinator will include:<ul><li>Promotes research studies’ initiation and review, including completion of associated reports/questionnaires.</li><li>Promotes the positive growth of research within the company</li><li>Supports other team members with Research related activities</li><li>Required to know the Standard Operating Procedures</li><li>Maintains a thorough working knowledge through studying to achieve Clinical Research Coordinator Certification through attending seminars and training sessions necessary to achieve required credit hours through our education Fund</li><li>Maintain the ability to provide basic patient care including: the use of medical terminology, understanding basic lab values, vital sign assessment, phlebotomy, medication administration under the direction of the PI, the ability to recognize adverse events and/or patients in distress requiring advanced patient care and reporting the same to the appropriate personnel</li><li>Perform other tasks as assigned by the Clinical Research Operations Manager</li><li>Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional working relationship with all research and ancillary staff.&nbsp;</li><li>Some travel between offices is required (may occur on a daily basis) – mileage reimbursement provided. &nbsp;There is also some travel to Investigator’s Meetings out of state as necessary (up to twice per year).</li></ul>You should have:<ul><li>Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program or relevant work experience accepted; Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university</li><li>At least 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience</li><li>Strong interest in the clinical trial industry and medical research.
