Adjunct Faculty - Chemistry

The Science Intern position supports undergraduate or graduate students participating in unpaid internships within science-related organizations, including academic labs, government agencies, research institutions, non-profits, and private industry. This role is intended to provide practical, hands-on experience aligned with the student's academic and career goals in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields. <ul><li>Assist with scientific research, data collection, laboratory procedures, or fieldwork, under the supervision of a qualified mentor.</li><li>Support project-based tasks such as literature reviews, data analysis, protocol development, or report preparation.</li><li>Participate in team meetings, seminars, or briefings relevant to the internship placement.</li><li>Comply with safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and organizational policies of the host site.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of internship activities and complete documentation required by the university or grant program.</li><li>Communicate regularly with designated Holyoke Community College advisor.</li></ul>Learning Outcomes:<ul><li>Through this internship, the student will:</li><li>Gain practical experience in a professional or research-based science environment.</li><li>Apply classroom knowledge to real-world scientific challenges.</li><li>Develop professional skills including problem-solving, communication, and ethical scientific conduct.</li></ul>REQUIRED:&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Enrolled as a student in a science, engineering, or related field at Holyoke Community College</li><li>Demonstrated interest in gaining experience related to research, scientific practice, or applied STEM work.</li><li>Ability to follow instructions, manage time effectively, and work independently or as part of a team.</li><li>Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.</li></ul>Part-Time/Non-Benefited position
