Position Summary
The Graduate StudiesDepartment within the Dreeben School of Education invites full-time faculty candidates for Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Director of the Graduate Studies Department in the Dreeben School of Education beginning fall 2027. Full Time Faculty/Directors are expected to teach three courses/dissertations in the fall semester and three courses/dissertations in the spring semester. The position includes supervising students in the Ph.D. program.

In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities.

Essential Functions

1. Direct the operations and programming of the Graduate Studies Department.
2. Participate in curriculum development and advancement of the respective program.
3. Prepare course outlines based on approved departmental syllabi.
4. Prepare and deliver consistent, interactive masters and doctoral course, research course, and core graduate studies course lectures in organizational leadership and other relevant areas which align with curriculum goals.
5. Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure curriculum outcomes and accreditation standards are met.
6. Prepare and administer timely and meaningful exams, projects, and assessments for assigned courses.
7. Advise and mentor graduate students; provide individual assistance to students during weekly office hours.
8. Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and processes including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course.
9. Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.
10. Serve on and/or chair dissertation committees; serve on university and school committees.
11. Perform regular scholarly research and publication.
12. Provide service to the respective department, college, university, community, and profession.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Leadership, strategic decision-making, and communication skills necessary to guide the Graduate Studies Department.
• Strong knowledge in quantitative research design and methods.
• Effective instructional delivery with capacity to teach a variety of courses in the doctoral program and guide dissertations.
• Proficiency in use of instructional technology.
• Ability to actively engage students in the learning process.
• Ability to conduct respectful relationships with students both in and outside the classroom.
• Ability to work collegially and productively within the university community.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Doctoral Degree in Education, Research, Leadership or other relevant discipline.

Required Work Experience

• Five (5) years of teaching experience in respective disciplinein a college or university setting.
• Two (2) years of leadership experience in organizations
• Two (2) years of experience directing research.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a chair or director in higher education.
• Experience integrating instructional technology and diversity into teaching and student learning.
• Extensive expertise in Quantitative Research.
