Job Description HMS MEDscience has an opening for an experienced team teacher for its high school biology-based enrichment program. In addition to teaching, this position will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of our programming for various partners and support the training of volunteers who join our teaching team. Key Responsibilities:&nbsp;<ul><li>Lead Teacher:&nbsp;Delivers interactive lectures, simulation cases, and debriefs that utilize innovative and unique pedagogy techniques aligned with program goals of critical thinking, problem solving, building teamwork, communication skills, developing personal health literacy, and continued interest in STEM fields. Collaborates with the MEDscience team to deliver schoolyear and summer programming. Instructs students in medical skills, terminology, and scientific literacy (training provided).</li><li>Program Coordination: Coordinates the programming for at least 20 partnering high school classroom teachers for the fall and spring semester courses: discuss logistics, individualize program curriculum calendar, provide program materials, monitor completion of required paperwork &amp; surveys.&nbsp; Coordinates within the MEDscience teaching team: establish roles for each session, responsible for the set-up and breakdown of session materials. Provides support and training as needed to partnering high school teachers, interns, and volunteers on the MEDscience curriculum and pedagogy. Supervise student survey administration ensuring 100% rate of completion.</li><li>Teacher Training:&nbsp;Trains newly hired teachers and volunteers on the curriculum, meeting ahead of class sessions to run training and observing classes to provide feedback.</li><li>Curriculum Development:&nbsp;Assists in refining written materials for pedagogy evaluation, and other documents needed for program expansion. Position Description: The Assistant Director for Research Administration and Finance (ADRAF) will be responsible for pre and post award grant management, financial management and modeling, and all financial compliance within Opportunity Insights (OI).&nbsp; The ADRAF will oversee and manage the Finance Associate. &nbsp;In addition to managing staff and processes, the ADRAF will have a small portfolio of PIs awards that are deemed complicated and complex. The Center has a “full-cycle” grant management structure. In addition to pre and post award management of sponsored awards, the ADRAF will review and approve expenditures (HCOM, Corporate Card, PCard etc.). The ADRAF ensures compliance with internal Harvard polices, processes and deadlines. This includes working closely with OSP, RAS, OGC and Central finance departments. The ADRAF will assist in hiring and orientation, training and development, workflow and performance management, and the promotion of an inclusive and innovative work environment. The ADRAF will oversee the routing and signatory process. The ADRA will establish and monitor effective pre-and post-award processes and systems. Manage pre-award areas such as: proposal submission, award validation approval and set-up. Ensure department’s accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting. &nbsp;Supervises Finance Associate, including planning, assigning, scheduling, reviewing work, training, mentoring and performance management. Serves as primary local contact for resolving issues related to review criteria such as PI eligibility, indirect cost policies, cost sharing, and identifying needed compliance approvals.

The EM Core provides high-quality services and expert supervision in transmission and scanning electron microscopy to a large and diverse scientific community, including both basic research labs and industry. The RAIII will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the EM Core, working independently under general supervision, and efficiently managing multiple tasks while delivering exceptional service.&nbsp; 
Position Description:<ul><li>Receive and prepare samples for Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) including fixation, embedding, ultrathin sectioning, critical point drying, sputter coating, high-pressure freezing, freeze substitution, immunogold labeling, and negative staining.</li><li>Perform imaging, data collection, and analysis for specific projects based on sample submission requests, either independently or in collaboration with clients. • Assist in the training and operation of TEMs, SEMs, and ancillary equipment for sample preparation. Troubleshoot imaging challenges and assist with image analysis as required.</li><li>Meet with investigators to help design experiments, determine the appropriate technologies, and identify optimal workflows for a wide variety of samples.</li><li>Oversee the maintenance of lab equipment, manage inventory by ordering supplies, prepare reagents, and maintain vendor relationships. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and lab protocols.</li><li>Conduct ongoing literature reviews to stay current with new procedures and emerging research. Apply this knowledge to improve ongoing research and develop new protocols.</li><li>Assist with administrative tasks such as generating quotes, billing for services, and other duties as required to support the operational efficiency of the EM Core.&nbsp;</li></ul> Qualifications Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>3+ years of experience working in an electron microscopy or related laboratory, preferably in a core facility setting.</li></ul> 
Additional Qualifications and Skills:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in basic science or biomedical related field.</li><li>Proven experience working with transmission and scanning electron microscopy, sample preparation techniques, and imaging analysis.</li><li>Good interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to multi-task and work independently.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues with microscopy equipment.&nbsp;</li></ul> Additional Information <ul><li>Standard Hours/Schedule:&nbsp;35 hours per week | Monday-Friday | 9:00am-5:00pm</li><li>Visa Sponsorship Information: Harvard University is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position</li><li>Pre-Employment Screening: Education, Identity</li></ul>This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.&nbsp;Please note that we are currently conducting a majority of interviews and onboarding remotely and virtually.
