General Function:&nbsp;
Provide high quality effective instruction in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; Facilitate student learning, and perform evaluations of student learning for all assigned classes, using each course's standard course outline as a guide;&nbsp;Advise and mentor students about academic and career goals
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in a health-related or science field earned from a regionally accredited college or university and at least two years’ experience in Central Sterile Processing. Must possess a valid Possess CRCST certification.
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp; 
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related or science field earned from a regionally accredited college or university and at least two years of experience in central processing and three years of Community College teaching experience, or a combination of both, within the past ten years. Must possess a valid Possess CRCST certification.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Teach courses as assigned in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; Travel to multiple campuses as assigned. Maintain student-instructor ratio. Teach a 9-hour load per semester (Fall and Spring); Teach 7-hour load in summer</li>
<li>Advise and mentor students about academic and career goals</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, dean, and academic leadership about curricular and programmatic issues and needs</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, administration and staff to support the students, strategic plan, goals and business operations of the college; Work collegially as part of both discipline-specific and multidisciplinary teams</li>
<li>Stay abreast of current developments in the teaching discipline and assist in keeping instructional resources current</li>
<li>Support curricular and co-curricular activities within the college; Participate in graduation exercises</li>
<li>Post and maintain office hours which provide adequate time for academic advisement with students; out-of-class meetings with students and colleagues; and faculty, division, and departmental meetings</li>
<li>Respond promptly to the Dean’s requests, submit all requested paperwork timely and completely and serve on college committees</li>
<li>Engage in the minimum number of documented continuing professional development as required by accreditation</li>

SUMMARY
The evening Heating Ventilation Air-conditioning &amp; Refrigeration Instructor shall coordinate with the full-time program faculty and shall be directly responsible to the institution administration for effective performance of assigned responsibilities and duties. The instructor shall observe rules, policies, and regulations set forth by the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville (TCAT), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and the Council of Occupational Education (COE); and shall strive to promote and elevate the mission and philosophy of occupational education within the areas served. They shall keep abreast of industry standards and techniques, reviewing periodicals and industry magazines commensurate to the course being taught.&nbsp; The instructor shall follow and maintain a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides to meet educational requirements and industry standards. They shall also oversee student conduct, motivation, safety, discipline, and appearance, addressing issues as they arise.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

<li>High school graduate or the equivalent as determined by the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET)</li>
<li>EPA section 608 Universal Certification required.</li>
<li>3+ years of approved work experience in the occupation to be taught.</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license.</li>

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Associate degree or diploma from an accredited technical training program in the related field.</li>
<li>3+ years technical teaching experience.</li>
<li>5+ years industry related experience.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) labeling and policy.</li>
<li>OSHA 10 certification.</li>
<li>EPA Certified</li>
<li>Classroom experience and administrative experience in delivery of workforce education and competency-based training preferred.</li>

RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Ensure program aligns with all Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville (TCAT), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and Council of Occupational Education (COE) policy requirements.</li>
<li>Maintain knowledge of industry trends and technological advances in the industry.</li>
<li>Maintain an organized, safe, and stable learning environment that is conducive to all (COE) accreditation requirements.</li>
<li>Follow lesson plans, implement active learning activities to accommodate different learning styles, and teach industry skills and competencies commensurate to the course.</li>
<li>Utilize reliable formative and summative in-class assessment tools/techniques to measure student achievement of course competencies.</li>
<li>Follow grading criteria and utilize Banner to record and submit grades and attendance (tardiness and absences) daily.</li>
<li>Distribute student syllabus at the beginning of the course to define course competencies, performance criteria, established approved grading procedures and standards, attendance and class policies/procedures, and other necessary information to students.</li>
<li>Teach worker ethics curriculum, interpersonal skills, post-secondary workforce skills, and soft skills within the standard industry framework.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a commitment to student success by providing guidance and advice to students regarding program areas, course progress, and academic and disciplinary issues.</li>
<li>Coordinate all disciplinary issues with administration and student services coordinator.</li>
<li>Coordinate with Technology Foundations Instructor to schedule student instruction times.</li>
<li>Promote program specific career technical student organizations to all students (SkillsUSA, Student Government Association (SGA), etc.)</li>
<li>Provide work -based learning opportunities to all students.</li>
<li>Coordinate student career guidance options with Career Services Coordinator.</li>
<li>Conduct follow-up on employment of graduates and maintain follow-up records on former students.</li>
<li>Be responsible for and maintain inventory, control, and maintenance of all equipment, tools, and supplies assigned to the department’s classroom and lab. Report loss or damage immediately.</li>
<li>Coordinate the need for equipment, tools, and supplies with the instructor and make recommendations for items needed for the program.</li>

<li>Must possess a high degree of knowledge with a strong technical background in precision agriculture or crop production.</li>

Job Summary
This is a full-time, academic-year (9 month), one-year term (renewable) appointment within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The faculty member is responsible for the planning and delivery of quality classroom instruction across multiple delivery formats, assessment of student learning, and service to the shared governance of the college. POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction on a variety of computer science topics including a variety of computer programming languages.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach computer science courses via on-ground day and evening, hybrid, virtual or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned.
