The Assistant Director of Workforce Development supports the strategic mission of the Workforce Development Department and reports to the External Affairs Division. The Assistant Director of Workforce Development maintains knowledge of regional labor market trends, employer needs, and regional funding priorities to develop and deliver high-quality, relevant training programs. The Assistant Director of Workforce Development provides leadership to the Workforce Training and Development Division and collaborates in providing access to new and expanded workforce training opportunities and designing and delivering comprehensive pathways to employment. This includes but is not limited to (1) personnel management, (2) assisting with budget management, (3) class planning and scheduling, (4) internal and external reporting, (5) data management, and (6) employer relations. The Assistant Director of Workforce Development meets with new and existing businesses and industry leaders with the goal of identifying the need for new programs and new workforce training opportunities, as well as establishing new business and industry partnerships. A key role of this position is staying abreast of emerging and new industries in the region by collaborating with Economic Development Organizations and local and regional government entities. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director of Workforce Development is responsible for articulating the mission of the Dyersburg State Community College Workforce Development department to prospective students and businesses in various settings, including information sessions, industry meetings, etc. This position cooperates with internal and external constituents in a broad context of operations and planning. This position is responsible for short-term, non-credit programs and project management of those said programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>This position oversees multiple workforce development programs across multiple college locations, with travel required as appropriate.</li>
<li>Collaborates regularly with local and regional Economic Development Organizations and the Vice President of External Affairs to identify opportunities for developing new or customized training programs.</li>
<li>Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders regarding training program needs and/or ideas.</li>
<li>Analyzes industry needs through various means and seeks out opportunities to support regional industries with training programs.</li>
<li>Responsible for developing, managing, and delivering new workforce training programs and apprenticeships.</li>
<li>Developing new courses and certificate programs to produce workforce contact hour gains of 5% and meet revenue goals annually.</li>
<li>Develops, organizes, and oversees all college locations’ College for Kids program. Works with the Director of Work Force Development to identify instructors, volunteers, and staff to oversee each scheduled summer program.</li>
<li>Oversees all onboarding and manages the apprenticeship program for Dyersburg State Community College</li>
<li>Collaborates directly with certification agencies to ensure program alignment and appropriate accreditation and credentialing requirements for new programs.</li>
<li>Leads course design and course objectives while collaborating with industry and faculty.</li>
<li>Supports the Director of Workforce Development in developing and managing budgets associated with new workforce training programs.</li>
<li>Identifies and recommends individuals from the instructor pool for new workforce training programs.</li>
<li>Develops new instructor orientation specific to the training program being taught.</li>
<li>Supervises new training program faculty to ensure the objectives of the program are met and ensure compliance with college and industry policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Provides technical and/or professional coordination and leadership in executing day-to-day operations for newly developed training programs.</li>
<li>Works directly with the Director of Workforce Development to continue training programs beyond initial execution.</li>
<li>Coordinates with campus deans/directors and off-site locations for training space, which includes classrooms and labs.</li>
<li>Surveys business and industry to determine the effectiveness of newly established programs and makes adjustments accordingly.</li>
<li>Maintains transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

<li>Organizes and conducts Information Sessions for the general public to promote new programs.</li>
<li>Assists the Director of Workforce Development in seeking grants, managing grant awards, and preparing RFPs for grant submissions.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years related experience within the Technical Trades industry sector. Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.) Ability to remain adaptable and flexible to different situations and changes, including learning new systems and processes. Ability to create accurate program budgets.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field with 7 years of industry-related experience and 2 years in Program Management. Certifications in OSHA.
Minimum starting salary is $36,900 annually ($18.92 per hour). With additional experience pay increases to a maximum of $46,100.

Title: Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program Director
POSITION SUMMARY The Program Director is responsible for coordinating the College’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program. The Program Director will lead, supervise, manage and implement all aspects of the program, including classroom and online course development and instruction, curriculum development, marketing, recruitment and advising of students, budgeting, faculty supervision and support and revision/modification of all program components as needed and/or required.
This is a non-faculty, 12-month administrative position, which may include some teaching responsibilities based on operational needs and in accordance with College policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Direct, manage and implement the overall operation of the EMS program. Recruit, develop, supervise and evaluate program faculty and ensure adequate staffing for program courses. Establish annual institutional goals for the program, including curriculum development, implementation and assessment. Lead all external program accreditation efforts, including self-studies, site visits and reporting. Maintain accreditation with CoAEMSP and CAAHEP. Coordinate with clinical sites for student placement, orientation and communication. Act as liaison between faculty, sponsoring agencies, students, the local medical community and the State’s Division of Emergency Medical Services, including continually evaluating and monitoring program progress and objectives as they relate to the program’s licensing, registering and certifying agencies. Foster industry relationships to promote and market the program and to recruit guest speakers and adjunct faculty. Facilitate advisory committee meetings and maintain proper documentation. Monitor student performance data and ensure completion of the College’s Academic Program Review and the TBR Academic Audit. Plan, conduct and document regular departmental meetings.
Manage online course delivery and ensure all model courses are current. Oversee textbook adoption, publisher coordination and faculty training on instructional materials. Provide academic and career advising. Manage student concerns and coordinate responses. Oversee facilities and equipment use for all EMS courses. Maintain department budget and inventory. Recommend and coordinate equipment purchases. Ensure compliance with all Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and College policies, guidelines, licensure requirements and other state and federal guidelines. Complete required College trainings. In addition to primary administrator responsibilities, may teach as assigned, and/or as needed, including day, evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment and distance-based courses. Teaching includes developing and revising curriculum for credit, non-credit and online classes, maintaining regular office hours and submitting required reports, such as engagement, early alerts, surveys and grades, in accordance with established deadlines.

Must possess a current EMT-Paramedic, Registered Nurse or Physician license and/or hold all credentials for which students are being prepared in the program
