This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Student Advocacy and Support. The Social Services Coordinator role is to manage and provide access to necessary supportive services in the Southwest student community, provide case management services as needed, and develop programs and resources that support the Southwest student population. The services provided by the Social Services Coordinator include, but are not limited to, connecting students with housing, food, transportation concerns with resources on and off campus. Job Duties

POSITION SUMMARY The Coordinator of the Nashville State Project Reroute oversees a support program for justice-impacted learners attending main campus locations as part of the Correctional Education Initiative. Programming and services aim to support the college’s 2030 vision, which focuses on increasing persistence rates (Fall to Spring retention), retention rates (Fall to Fall retention), and 3-year graduation rates. This aligns with Nashville State’s Vision of achieving equitable outcomes for our varied community of learners.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as an academic and career advisor and advocate for cohort students. Work with subpopulation students to address barriers to admission. Collaborate with academic affairs, admissions, student success initiatives, and financial aid to address barriers specific to justice impacted students. Connect cohort students to appropriate resources both in and out of the college.
Creation, implementation, and scheduling of periodic workshops for students to address topics including but not limited to: software training, study skills, career and goal planning, financial literacy, mental health/mindset support. Title: Temporary - Evening Coordinator, Dickson Campus
POSITION SUMMARY Serves as the primary point of contact for basic administrative, instructional and facilities support for evening operations at the Dickson Campus. Acts as an evening resource for faculty, staff and students and responds to emergencies during evening hours.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Is the principal point of contact for evening operations. Facilitates the use of campus facilities during evening hours. Acts as a liaison between campus director, faculty, staff and students to facilitate evening operations. Ensures that the campus is supervised and high traffic areas are overseen during evening hours.
In the event of an emergency during evening hours of operation, executes campus emergency procedures and communicates with various college personnel and/or external agencies as the situation and/or protocols warrant. Keeps the campus director and other appropriate college personnel informed of any incidents or concerns that arise during the evening. Manages projects as directed by the campus director. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a smooth operation of a Domicile within the Transportation Department and helps provide 24 hours coverage. The primary responsibility is to maintain a properly staffed and trained department that supports the warehousing function by offering the highest levels of logistics support. A teammate in this position must have the ability to: <ul><li>Direct and motivate teammates.</li><li>Coordinate the investigation of accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions through the application of company safety standards.</li><li>Be responsible for compliance and knowledge with Federal Department of Transportation regulations and other safety standards.</li><li>Maintain fleet in a safe manner in accordance with company and governmental standards. Comply effectively with company work and safety rules.</li><li>Provide general supervision of all transportation dispatchers and functional processes within the domicile.</li><li>Maintain effective and timely scheduling of Transportation teammates and management staff.</li><li>Facilitate communication within the management team and between the teammates and management.</li><li>Conduct scheduled performance reviews for all management staff and submit recommendations for salary adjustments.</li><li>Provide training as needed to maintain an efficient and knowledgeable work force.</li><li>Enforce general company policies and issuance of coaching/disciplinary documentation to teammates.</li><li>Exhibit leadership and maintain level of managerial professionalism at all times.</li><li>Work with Transportation Manager to resolve issues between warehousing and distribution.</li><li>Plan, assign and direct work; address complaints and resolve problems.</li><li>Work independently and in a team environment.</li><li>Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the changing needs of the Transportation Department.</li></ul> MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A teammate in this position must: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.</li><li>Have 3 years of experience in all facets of outbound transportation, preferably a distribution center.</li><li>Be skilled on Excel, Microsoft Word, and Access programs; PEOPLE NET or similar programs (preferred).</li><li>Have experience in managing drivers to include hiring, training, motivating teammates, and resolving teammate relations issues.</li><li>Be able to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and inter-company memos/outside correspondence.</li><li>Have minimum of 2 years of accounting, planning, analytical and/or reporting experience, in positions with increasing responsibility is preferred.</li><li>Be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors, and teammates.</li><li>Be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.</li><li>Have knowledge of distribution systems to include order routing, backhaul and transfer procedures.</li></ul> WORKING CONDITIONS: <ul><li>The work conditions for this position includes office, warehouse, transportation yards and transportation shop environments.</li><li>The working conditions also include field work to include route observations at customer locations.</li><li>This position may require working in hot and cold temperature extremes, exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, noise, potentially harmful chemicals, solvents and components, and working in close to proximity to other teammates.</li><li>Closed-toe shoes must be worn always.</li></ul> Candidates may be subject to a background check and drug screen, in accordance with applicable laws.
