Brief Job Overview/Summary
The Director of the Gear Up Program at Stockton University will have the responsibility to develop, implement, and manage Gear UP. Gear Up provides programming for target schools in the Atlantic City and Pleasantville School Districts. This position will be responsible for the planning and management of the program by developing and recommending goals, policies, and procedures, which comply with university policies and goals. The Director of Gear Up position requires skills in management, supervision, program implementation, oversight, partnership, teamwork, and political stakeholder engagement. This position reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management.




Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

<li>Manage compile, collect, and analyze data collected to accommodate students’ needs</li>
<li>Manage grant budget by allocating appropriate funding and maintaining monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the University while ensuring compliance of state regulations</li>
<li>Supervise, recruit, hire and train part-time and full-time staff</li>
<li>Develop partnerships with school districts</li>
<li>Collaborate interdepartmentally with Admissions, Financial Aid, EOF, Students Affairs to provide holistic students development in collegiate environment</li>
<li>Direct all program operations, including staffing, budgeting, and coordination with school administration</li>
<li>Design program activities, including tutoring, field trips, college campus visits, financial aid and college admissions workshops, STEM activities and in- class postsecondary readiness activities for students and parents</li>
<li>Coordinate, develop, implement academic year and summer program to ensure students’ academic success</li>
<li>Collaborate with teachers, data personnel and counselors to implement programming</li>
<li>Using school data, which includes demographics, academics and test scores, to continually evaluate program activities and bring continuous improvements</li>
<li>Identify, recruit and coordinate available community resources, including guest speakers, mentors, and volunteers</li>
<li>Help to publicize the program locally and statewide through local media sources</li>
<li>Maintain accurate cost accounting records for all expenditures</li>

You will be part of a close-knit team of other lawyers and a paralegal at a New York City location and collaborate closely with various business stakeholders worldwide in a fast-paced and dynamic environment to ensure that our tax initiatives align with our company goals and growth.Major Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>Analyze U.S. and foreign tax issues for various internal and external transactions, including U.S. international tax analysis under GILTI, Subchapter C and K, and other provisions, support and reporting of the Company’s position for the manufacturing exception under subpart F (“substantial contribution”), and Pillar II analysis.</li><li>Ensure proper integration planning and execution for acquisitions, divestures, legal entity restructurings, cross-border transactions, licensing arrangements, collaborations, partnerships, and other strategic transactions including any business changes occurring globally, partnering with external advisors when needed.</li><li>Advise and partner with other stakeholders across the company, including finance, business development, legal, HR, commercial, R&amp;D, and manufacturing departments, on tax efficient and compliant operations and understand business needs and objectives.</li><li>Provide tax-efficient cash management planning advice, working closely with the treasury team.</li><li>Provide tax advice and financial modeling of taxes for the company’s ongoing and new business development initiatives. &nbsp;</li><li>Monitor and analyze federal, state, and foreign legal developments and changes for impacts to the company to ensure proper compliance.</li><li>Develop strategies to address potential challenges for federal, foreign, and state and local tax controversies.</li><li>Coordinate with tax compliance and provision functions to ensure proper reporting of transactions.</li><li>Support the foreign markets in managing relationships with external tax advisors and local tax authorities.</li><li>Support the development and implementation of transfer pricing policies and strategies to comply with transfer pricing regulations and documentation requirements.</li></ul>Required Skills:<ul><li>J.D., bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is a plus, with LL.M preferred.</li><li>4+ years corporate tax experience at a law firm, big 4 accounting firm, and/or corporate tax department.</li><li>Foundation in federal corporate income tax analysis, particularly subchapter C, M&amp;A, subpart F (including substantial contribution analysis), foreign tax credit planning, and transfer pricing.</li><li>Well-rounded expertise in global operations, US and international tax issues, international tax planning, transfer pricing, and cross-border M&amp;A.</li><li>Strong understanding of tax accounting preferred.</li><li>Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with proven ability to solve multidimensional problems creatively.</li><li>Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environment.</li><li>Business-oriented with desire and ability to collaborate cross functionally across the company.</li><li>Proactive in identifying tax issues, forming and proposing solutions, and implementing projects.</li></ul>If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn’t perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
