<h3>Job Description:</h3>The Role Quantitative Research and Investments (QRI) is seeking an experienced quantitative risk professional to contribute to the development and enhancement of Fidelity Asset Management’s risk analytics platform. The risk analytics platform supports ex-ante risk, VaR, attribution, stress testing and scenario analysis across all asset classes, and is leveraged by investment professionals across Fidelity for risk management, portfolio construction, and alpha research.The successful candidate will have two separate mandates. First is to develop the specifications and codebase needed to compute risk analytics not currently supported by the platform, and then collaborate with quantitative developers to deploy these analytics into production. Particular focus will be given to optimizing run-time performance, scalability, and robustness of the core risk calculators on the platform.The second mandate focuses on research to improve Fidelity’s factor models and specific risk forecasts. The factor model research will focus on both liquid alternative (e.g. arbitrage, macro, ARP, managed futures) and illiquid alternative (e.g. private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and private equity) asset classes. A second area of research will focus on collaboration with QRI’s data science researchers to extract insights from alpha research to improve specific risk forecasts. In addition to focusing on the development of core functionality and methodological improvements, a key part of the role is communicating with portfolio and risk managers across the firm to ensure the platform can be effectively leveraged as part of the investment decision making process. The successful evolution of the platform will require balancing long term strategic enhancements with tactical enhancements required by the business.The role sits within the Platform and Analytics Group (PAG) within QRI. PAG works alongside quantitative researchers in QRI, and across Asset Management, to develop and maintain the infrastructure that enables R&amp;D for alpha generation, risk modeling and portfolio construction. This exciting opportunity is core to driving future success of American Express.&nbsp;The Director, Exam Management &amp; Governance, will lead a team that is responsible for ensuring our Consumer Deposit Products (Checking, Savings and Time Deposits) are operating in accordance with our promises to our members as well as meeting all regulatory and policy obligations. This leader will guide a dedicated team responsible for managing all regulatory audits and exams, third-party oversight, governance of Consumer Banking-owned procedures, Global Records Management (GRM), and tax information reporting. The Consumer Banking team is responsible for driving AXP’s innovation for banking services, identifying Member needs and innovating new digital banking products.&nbsp; This exciting opportunity is core to driving future success of American Express. &nbsp;Key responsibilities of this role include:<ul><li>Manage all regulatory audits and exams, ensuring timely, accurate responses and sustainable closure of findings. Drive proactive governance that anticipates risks before it surfaces and enabling an exam-ready, rather than exam-reactive team 1LOD.</li><li>Oversee third-party partners to ensure their execution aligns with regulatory standards, Amex policy, and contractual SLAs.</li><li>Maintaining rigorous record retention practices and adherence to American Express Global Records Management policies, controls, and standards within the product management team.</li><li>Lead ADA governance, ensuring our digital experiences meet accessibility standards and reflect our brand promise of inclusion.</li><li>Oversee and tax information reporting, ensuring we meet our obligation to furnish and file in an accurate, timely, and compliant manner.</li><li>Maintain a library of Consumer Banking Product Management procedures and standards and ensure annual review and approval.</li></ul>The following qualifications will be key to success:Ideal candidate will be highly execution focused with strong project management skills, outstanding leadership, excellent communication and influence management abilities as well as meeting the following:<ul><li>Prior experience in Consumer Deposits strongly preferred</li><li>Strong experience in past controls, compliance or operational excellence focused roles</li><li>Strong affinity for process management and quality assurance</li><li>Outstanding interpersonal, leadership and influencing skills with the ability to work with partners across different functions and connect with all levels of employees</li><li>Prior experience operating within complex, cross-functional teams</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li><li>Positive “roll-up your sleeves” attitude and ability to work with ‘start-up’ mentality</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment to deliver multiple priorities under tight timelines</li><li>Committed people leader with high level of integrity and a track record of developing and inspiring others</li><li>7+ years of experience in financial services</li></ul>Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
